Measuring Impact Project

Requisites for the Washington, DC.-based team includes:
Project Director/Chief of Party
- Knowledge of U.S. government procurement, personnel, reporting, and other management-related contract compliance.
- Supervisory, management, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Written and oral communication skills
- At least 10 years of experience in international development strategic planning, project design and evaluation
- At least 5 years of overseas international development experience managing an office staffed by at least 5 people
- Expertise in biodiversity, forestry or natural resource management
- Graduate degree in international development, conservation or a related field
Senior Project Design and Planning Specialist, Senior Evaluation Specialist and
Senior Researcher:
- Management skills and experience required to oversee major components of an integrated, multi-year project
- Graduate or doctoral degree in international development, biodiversity conservation, ecology, economics, sociology, anthropology, or public administration
- At least 10 years of experience in international development or closely related field, with significant overseas experience
- Strong project and program design experience in biodiversity and natural resources management or other sectors of international development, e.g., agriculture, governance, health
- Demonstrated experience training and mentoring international development staff on project design or strategic planning, facilitating workshops and mentoring young professionals from a variety of international and cultural backgrounds
- Strong skills and experience in research related to biodiversity, forestry and other natural resource management activities, including in-depth knowledge of research methods, survey and sampling design, and quantitative analysis
- Significant experience in evaluating design and delivery for international development activities and biodiversity conservation projects, including appropriate use of quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods
- Understanding of USAID program management cycle and familiarity with rules and regulations applicable to USAID and U.S. government programs

Summary: Contributes to the leadership and development for one or more technical projects, new business development, and/or technical assignments, and contributes to corporate strategies, budget management, staff development and supervision. Monitors and reports on project finances and resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides limited technical support to one or more technical projects.
Provides administrative support to one or more technical projects.
Maintains positive relationship with the client, project partners and project administrators. .
Ensures that project activities comply with project/ program requirements.
Contributes to proposal development and may lead.
Leads new business efforts by networking and marketing, gathers intelligence on new projects or upcoming bids.
Leads and participates in billable assignments that result in the development of WAI company capabilities and products.
Manages work assignment/task order/project activities, including resources allocation, budget management, activity deliverables
Manages and mentors the Program Associate(s) and others that may be assigned to that activity.
Responsible for quality control of assigned work assignment/task order/project deliverables, advises Principal Associate when trajectory may not meet expected quality standards.
Trains project staff on Company policies and procedures as well as international development topics.
Reports to the Principal Associate on a monthly basis.
Follows through with project activities as directed by the Principal Associate.
Schedules and participates in bi-annual performance reviews of supervised team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises one to three employees.

Education and/or Experience
- Experience working directly with USAID Cognizant Technical Officers managing contracts and resolving issues, or equivalent experience handling major clients and portfolios.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a field relevant to international development
- 7-12 years professional experience in this or a related field.
Other Qualifications
- Second language skills (current vacancy Spanish preferred).
- Experience living and/or working overseas.
- Practical experience focusing in a developing in a developing country environment.

One visit: Identifying risks and supervisory strategies and protocols
- Approximately 10 technical specialists, including auditors, payments system experts, supervisors, ICT experts
- Topics
- Identify and explain risks
- Describe control methods
- Review international standards established for informational security ISO/IEC27001/27002, ISO9001, etc. and ISF’s SOGP
- Provide examples from other countries of effective systems (laws, regulations and supervision) for information security for branchless banking and/or mobile money
- Methods for validating information
- Procedures for monitoring operations
- Develop a process for evaluating security measures of private sector actors
Two-day workshop [May 7th – 8th]
Requirements
7+ years of experience with formation of and/or implementation ISMS (or ISM3) of information security regulation and supervision in multiple countries including work with ISO/IEC27001, ISO/IEC27002 and related standards of ISO and IEC (ISO/IEC15443: ISO-20000, ISO9001, etc.) and Information Security Forum’s SOGP. In addition, experience assisting companies to meet these standards, particularly in the finance, telecommunications and/or mobile money fields is desired.
Graduate-level diploma: MBA or Master’s in Information System Management or similar certification in ISMS.

Job Description
Summary: This position is a junior level position that provides administrative support to Weidemann Associates projects. The Program Associate reports to a project manager on project related work and reports to the President or his/her designee on non-project related work.

Technical Writer
Weidemann Associates Inc., is seeking part-time technical writers with five or more years of technical writing, proposal development, and drafting technical proposal sections under U.S. government contracts, including USAID.
Technical areas include: agriculture and agricultural development, rural development, enterprise and microenterprise development, economic growth, project monitoring and evaluation and information systems.
Writers’ experience must include working with business development team, senior management, and technical consultants to develop the technical approach. Writers must be able to develop the outline; present drafts that are accurate, brief and clearly written; and adhere to production deadlines.
